WELCOME TO A BOOK LAUNCH AT DUNSTER’S LUTTRELL ARMS HOTEL!

If you are interested in Exmoor National Park, its ancient superstitions, folktales and the local ghost stories in and around Dunster, this is the book launch event for you! 

The ‘Witches, Giants and a Ghost Cat - a travel guide to the mystery tales of Dunster’ book has taken Dunster-based author Nina Dodd a full year of research and interviews conducted with the locals.

“What started purely as a ghost book, quickly developed into a much broader collection of folktales, local history and West Country superstitions and beliefs,” Nina says.

The 112 page book is lavishly illustrated by local, Minehead-based digital artist Asia Wetherell, whose prints will also be sold at the book launch - and after the event at the Dunster Living shop (3O High Street, Dunster) and web shop www.dunsterliving.com. The event starts at Luttrell Arms Hotel’s Stable Bar (32-36 High Street, Dunster, TA24 6SG) at 7pm on 30 September 2023 and will include a reading performed by talented local actress, Rachel Rose. Both the author Nina Dodd and illustrator Asia Wetherell will also be present to answer any questions about the research and writing process, and the creation of the beautiful digital images, which combine Asia Wetherell’s and Nina Dodd’s drawings and photographs with historical illustrations.
