My practice as an artist is the result of the intense observation of place, space and light. Walking the Somerset landscape is where my ideas come alive… it’s through my constant gazing, wandering and contemplating that I’m driven to capture the intimacy between me and my surroundings.

On returning to my studio, I process my experience of the world and consider what it means to see; holding onto those points where feeling and looking intertwine. Studio visits are a chance to explore the threshold between thoughts and ideas in motion… come along to discuss pathways, perception and paint… or just ponder the view.

This event is part of Somerset Open Studios 2023, a countywide event taking place 16th September to 1st October, during which nearly 300 artists are opening their workplaces to visitors.
