On this Storywalk find out about the power of walnuts over witches, why conkers were collected for the war effort, and why farmers should guide their flocks through hoops made from rowan branches. Join Mr Jelley, the author of the Storywalks trails, in a gentle amble through the three Parks.

Walk Leader:

The walk will be led by Mr Jelley, the author of the storywalks trails and a creative Exmoor practitioner whose work ranges from heritage trails to poetry boxes, from grass labyrinths to wet plate photography and film work.

Terrain:

The walk is level throughout and will be taken at a gentle amble.

Meeting Point:

Meet at the lower park walk gate, approached from Parkhouse Road, Minehead TA24 8BT

Public transport links to Minehead by bus or train are a five to ten minute walk from here.

The bus route is the number 28 which runs between Taunton and Minehead via Williton, Watchet, Washford, Blue Anchor and Dunster and is operated by First Bus (check bus times on the day but the weekday service is normally every 30 minutes).

Trains on the West Somerset Railway come to Minehead from Bishop’s Lydeard passing through Stogumber, Williton, Watchet, Washford, Blue Anchor and Dunster. Check timetables here.
